Things to do in Andenes

Andenes sits at the northern tip of Andøya in Vesterålen, and is the departure point for whale safari boats heading out into the deep water offshore. The town itself is small, built around its harbour and a lighthouse, with Bleik and its coastline a short distance to the south. Whale safaris here depend on sea conditions and the season, and trips can be affected by the same changeable, wind-driven weather found across the wider region. Andenes is reached as part of a longer route through Vesterålen, connected south toward Sortland and on to the Lofoten islands.
