Things to do in Reine

Reine, on Moskenesøya, is among the most photographed villages in Norway — a cluster of red rorbuer set against steep peaks at the water's edge. The view most visitors come for is taken from above: Reinebringen, a stone staircase of 1,566 steps built by Nepalese sherpas, climbs to a viewpoint looking down over the village and the surrounding fjord.

Parking in Reine itself is limited, and the village stays small and quiet away from that one viewpoint and the harbour. Nearby, Hamnøy and Sakrisøy add their own rorbuer clusters along the same stretch of coast, and the E10 continues on to Å i Lofoten at the very end of the road.

Weather changes quickly this far into the fjords, and the climb up Reinebringen is exposed to wind and rain.
