Things to do in Senja

Senja lies north of Lofoten, a separate island reached as an extension of a longer trip through the region rather than a stop along the E10 itself.

Its coast is marked by sharp peaks rising directly from the sea, and a scenic coastal route runs along its western side, linking small fishing settlements.

Compared with the Lofoten islands, Senja sees fewer visitors and its roads can be quieter, though the terrain and weather follow the same arctic, Gulf Stream-moderated pattern. For travellers with time beyond Lofoten itself, Senja extends the same kind of coastal and mountain landscape further north.
