Things to do in Harstad

Harstad is the largest town in the region north of Lofoten, sitting close to the Evenes airport that serves as one of the entry points into both Lofoten and Vesterålen. Its best-known sight is Trondenes Church, a medieval stone church on the peninsula just outside the town centre. Harstad functions as a hub for the wider area, with ferry and bus connections reaching south toward Lofoten and further north into Vesterålen. Compared with the archipelago itself, Harstad is more of a working town, with its own harbour and services rather than a village-scale setting.
